So I have decided to go with the BFG TA/KO Tires,
I am going to get 265/70/17 instead of the stock 165/65/17 to go up a little bit in size since I just installed new leaf springs and bilstein 5100's al around giving the truck a little bit of lift,

My tire supplier is able to get the BFG TA/KO's in the 265/70/17 Size and can get them in a 6ply and a 10 ply. The cost difference is $88 mounted and balanced. I tow a bass boat and haul my 4 wheeler around in the bed.

My question being would you go with the 6ply or the 10 ply tire?

I called several suppliers and both said the 6ply would be more than sufficient for what I need and would be a better riding tire. I just didn't know if it would be worth spending the extra $88 to get the 10 ply.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

The 10 ply (E) is rated to haul more than a Tacoma is capable of... That being said some guys like the 10 ply because they are slightly tougher for off road purposes. There are a lot of people who hate on BFG for some reason but they are a great tire. I have run them for years on all types of trucks. I am currently running the same size tire you want 265/70-R17. I haul loads frequently and tow a 17.5 ft boat all over the mountains of WV. You will be pleased with the 6, only thing 10 is going to do is make your truck ride rougher and cost you more at the pump.
