Interesting...I could be wrong then. I'm pretty sure the 02 and 03 are almost identical so I'll take your word for it and get some kenwoods down the road

Same. It's amazing what you can do with aftermarket head units, switching up equalizers and whatnot on stock speakers.

I havent tried recording car audio on the S5 yet but I do know that the S5 will pick up a .44 Mag shot quite well lol. Ill see what I can do about getting them up asap. Traveling for work so it may be a couple of days so stay tuned.

In all honesty if you are worried about sound while driving with the windows down at anything above about 35mph you won't get quality sound from just about anything because the wind noise will be a serious hindrance.

That really depends on your speakers and how much volume they can handle. Personally with mine, even at 75 mph, on 20 volume it overpowers most of the wind noise but that may just be me.

Yup I remember 20 was pretty much subwoofer status in my 04 Camry, the stock speakers in those cars were amazingly loud with mucho bass

I mean hell my settings are zeroed out to my speakers as its almost to loud at 15 with the treble and bass in the speakers. Ive got my sub up about +10 but I prefer more bass in my music, hence the choice to go with W3V3 JL :D Then again Ive tuned my system to the sound I prefer and to others it might sound good, bad or crappy but it sound good to me and thats what matters.

Im going to try and get some sound clips tomorrow. Not sure how to get them to the forums so if anyone knows an easy way to do this please send me a PM. Thanks.

I'm going to have to disagree. I can be doing 75mph, windows down, and not hear wind at all. My door speakers push about 110dbs which drowns out the wind noise perfectly. Also they are very clean sounding, but not as clean as if the windows were up that's for sure.

not hearing wind noise and not having wind noise affect the sound quality are 2 completely different things. Additionally 110dB will start to cause hearing damage in 30 minutes...

Obviously having the windows down affects the SQ. Having the engine running effects SQ. Ripping a loud juicy fart effects SQ. The point I'm making is that you can have speakers that are louder than wind noise as one person posted that you can't drown out wind noise. Even with the windows down at freeway speeds everything comes in loud and clear.

Also I understand DB's and what it can do to your hearing. I competed in DB Drags for years. I've had stereo's that if you didn't have hearing protection on I could make you go def in 1 burp.

Well, after many attempts to record through the Galaxy S5 I have been unsuccessful. The phone compresses the audio and make everything sound flat as the mainland of Texas. Anyone have any better ideas that will generate a clip under 2 MB? (2 MB is TacomaWorlds limit on .mp3s)
