    Just a bit hot and boring here today, so I let my mind wander.

    I imagine with a custom bumper and reworking a custom set of headlights and grill, it would be possible to make a new Tacoma look like the early 80's Hilux. You would definitely need a safari type bed lip (exterior tie downs).

    What do you guys think? Just thought it would be interesting to bs about.

    i'm really surprised that Toyota doesn't have a retro looking pickup kinda like they did with the fj and like the big 3 has done with muscle cars. I have an 81 Toyota and I think its way cooler looking than my 09 taco

    The one on the left is a MAN"S bumper....the one on the left....not so much.
    But yeah...I think you're on the right track here IMO.

    Even the grill looks tough!!!!

Plasti-dipped upper fenders and emblems. satin black spray paint here and there inside and out. 5100's set to 1.75" up front . C channel front bumper. Maxxis bighorn 255/85/16
    What size tires are on the 2nd gen? They look awesome.
