Depending on the price I would pull everything off and let them have it or buy it back and make a OHV toy to pull with my second gen. But the $$ is the real factor. Salvage title can be a pain, but if they come back at a stupid low offer you can build a trailer queen for the price of decent parts on the second gen.

Not much help I know, just all comes down to price and are YOU willing to drive your stolen truck without being upset.

P.S. if the insurance already paid you for the truck california law says its a salvage title regardless of damage. It may have zero damage in which case you get an inexpensive 1st gen with low resale value. Hence why I would OHV it.

Yes pull everything off start new. I did that when my last vehicle was totalled. They don't give you shit for aftermarket parts.

I have a spare 5VZ-FE intake if you want to remove the S/C for another truck. LMK.

I'm a big believer in "everything happens for a reason". This is God's way of telling you to start over fresh. Good luck with whatever you do! Glad your truck was found :)

Thank you all so much for the comments. It really is a help having everyone's educated opinions on the subject. I'm definitely now leaning towards pulling off parts and starting fresh.

Rons01TRD... Thank you, I might just take you up on that. I'm sure the S/C would sell quickly.

Where is the truck located at right now? That is a big factor in what you CAN do. If it is at a wrecker yard waiting on a decision, then legally the wrecking yard cannot allow you access to remove anything until the insurance company makes it's decision. If the insurance company totals it out, and they own it, then again, the wrecking yard cannot legally allow you to access the truck to remove parts because you no longer own the vehicle. Check with local and state laws where you are located BEFORE you make a decision because once you make that choice, you can't go back.

Right now the truck is at a dealership where the estimate was made. The pink slip is still in my hand, and I got a replacement plate. So, conceivably, I could go down there and grab it. I'm still the legal owner of the vehicle.

Magikbean, the truck was located during a call to a burglary in progress. Not sure exactly where the burglary was taking place, but the police stopped the guy in my truck at Willard and Pine.
