I am going to be building my box soon that will go behind my back seat of the dbl cab, and am wondering if anyone out there has managed to get enough sq. ft. for 2 10" subs in a ported box?

I have seen a ported box for 2 10's but it only has .77 sq ft per sub which just isnt enough, i need at least 1.1 sq ft per sub. If anyone has made this happen i would love to hear how you did it, and maybe even get some dimensions if you have them. Thanks all!

Are you hard set on a ported box?

Sure you get the boost at the frequency that the port is tuned to, but a sealed enclosure takes up less space, gives you better transient response and a nice tight sound.

Of course if you're a bass head and not an audiophile, maybe your preference is the boomy sound of a ported box...aw hell go with a bandpass enclosure. The only problem with that is, it will take up even more room.

I'm sure you can find some of the 10" "flat" subs that will fit in a .5 - .75 cu. ft. sealed box. Ported could be a problem but it might still be possible.

Thanks for the reply. I like to think I'm both an audiophile and a bass head... I just love the low bass from my current ported setup in my other truck. If tuned right like my current setup it still satisfies my audiophile side.

Looks like I'll have to take some measurements and figure this one out myself... Will make an awesome write up if I can pull it off!
