I have a led bar in the front with a harnes and switch and I want to hook up reverse lights with harnes and switch. But instead of hooking up the reverse lights to the battery can I tap into the other switch for power and ground?

If I am understanding you correctly, you wish to use the existing power and the ground from your front led bar circuit and apply them to the rear reverse lights?

If so, this may be possible depending on the way the wiring harness is wired as well as where in the circuit you will be pulling the power from.

Does your existing wiring harness contain a relay or no?

Good question. I'm kind of doing the same thing. I have a relay with my front lights, but rear lights didn't come with relay. not sure what to do.

Insure that that the wiring and fuse will handle the additional electrical load.

Tap in to the OEM reverse wiring and place a diode upline somewhere so the voltage doesn't back track.

So I did it. I taped into the pwr and grnd in my first switch for my second swich and grounded both reverse lights in the back. Had no problems with the test. All lights work nothing seemed to burn or get hot out of the ordinary. It's nothing fancy I got the lights for free and they look like the ones u buy at auto zone for 30 bucks but hey it's better this then having them sitting around taking up space

If you don't add a switch, then they will be on everytime you go into reverse.

Additionally, you could put a switch on it so that you can control whether they are on in reverse or not.

Also, you can use a 3-way (on-off-on) switch and put power from the battery on one connection and power from the reverse lights circuit on the other to control whether the lights are off, on in reverse, or on at anytime.
