Over the past couple of years, googling some information about my 05 Tacoma, this site always comes up near the top and I'm grateful for the info I've gotten here. This is my third Toyota pickup. I had an 84 which I bought used, put a 3in body lift and 33in tires on it and for about 4 years proceeded to beat the hell out of it which made me a yota lover ever since. All my friends would get mad at me as they kept fixing their broncos, blazers, and rams and I just changed my oil regularly. Made a mistake by selling it as I got older I wanted more than a tin can with wheels so I bought a plush, beautiful 86 K5 Chevy Blazer. Loved it but never took it 4 wheeling other than a few dirt roads didn't even need 4 wheel drive for. Took a turn too fast one night and goodbye Blazer. Bought a rusted bed 86 Yota for $400 and stripped it down and rebuilt it including custom bed and the same lift and tires as the first one, painted it (actually professionally) and got a lot of compliments on it. Bought with 110K miles put another 100,000 on it in about 6 years (didn't beat on it as bad as the first, but still put in a few places most trucks won't go) with minimal maintenance but the frame started to rot out on me so sold it. Finally was at a point where I could actually buy a brand new vehicle from a dealer (had nice trucks and cars before but never was the original owner) and didn't test drive any other vehicle or look at any other vehicle, just went to the dealer and bought my 05 Tacoma spanking new. My 4 wheeling days were behind me, but still needed a truck for work and hauling a small trailer and other stuff so I just bought the basic 4banger 2wd. I was amazed a/c was stock, never had that in my others! Still got the good old roll down windows though. It's been 9 years and almost a hundred thousand miles and now little things are needing some TLC so been frequenting the site more often and decided to join. Thanks again for all the insight many of you provide on here.
