tire wear on gravel

    any one running lots of gravel. what tires are holding up the best starting a new job and looking at 100 kms per day i have all terains now and the little gravel i have been on they are showing it. any and all info welcome

    I would get something with very little tread.
    Something plain.
    It might not get much traction but won't throw all that gravel all over ur truck.

    Heavier tires are much less prone to rock punctures. I drive gravel all the time and don't notice too much accelerated wear from it, but I don't drive that many miles either.

    All the logging crew cabs in B.C. ran Toyo M55 on the gravel roads. I have them on my Tacoma,stiff tire but it will hold up .

    Full OME suspension (885 front springs, Dakar leaf pack + OME shocks) + D29XL extra leaf + 3 deg. shim + RideRite airbags
    I've got close to 12 000 km of gravel on my set of Duratracs 265/75/16 rated C and another 20 000 km of pavement. They are holding up pretty good and they are very good on snow. I basically use them year round. They do send quite a bit of gravel on the rear sides of the truck though, I have a lot of rock chips I'll have to cover somehow.

    I had very good luck working 2 years in public utilities (all gravel pits, drives etc) with Generals. The newer AT2's look even more stout.
