Hey thanks for having a look at my build. I bought my Taco back in 2010 and have been slowly modifying her looking for better handling, a little darker style, and some performance (the 2.7 is very lacking in this department).

This is her on the first day

You can kinda see the red sway bar on the rear end

Then I made some custom 1" spindle spacers using 1.5" round bar and 4 M16x1.5-75 bolts, and put some new rims with 235/55R17 tires , installed a URD short shifter, and Urd maf calibrator.

I no she's in desperate need of a wash but these Canadian winters never seem to end. The next changes will be to lower the back further and get the windows tinted.

Cool change from some of the others. I really like the look of the old school rat rod trucks. They look awesome.

So after getting rather sick of bottoming out the back end I did some reading and found these bumpstops. They took maybe 10 minutes to install and cost like 5 bucks.

I decide to install some speakers in the rear doors but couldn't find mounts anywhere but from ********* and I wasn't paying what they were asking so i machined 2 out of .5" UHMW and used 6, 10mm I/D anti vibration rubber sleeves. Then just wired my new Pioneer 6.5" into the front doors channel.

My latest adventure was looking for an X-brace from a X-runner. After finding the nearly impossible even after talking to part the dealership, I decided to fabricate one for myself. I decided rather then welding a bracket on the bottom of the shackle mount it just make 2 small 90 degree brackets and mount them using the same bolt in the lower shackle mount. I used 1" tubing with.095" wall and a small .25" gusset. I painted it red to match my sway bar and installed it in about 45 minutes.

Honestly I've never really thought about how much. Maybe 2 grand for everything, it just slowly accumulated over 4 years. I save a lot doing my own work and fabricating my random parts (spindle spacers, speaker mounts, X-brace), thank you night shift. It handles great now, I love them on ramps.

I almost fabbed up a x-brace awhile back but kinda gave up since I was not able to get info on actual improvements that it made.

Care to give a review on how much it improved the trucks handling and over rigidity feel for the rear of the truck.

To be completely honest the X-brace didn't make a huge difference. I think the back end is a little more firm in the corners but the biggest difference came from the XII sway bar. The X-brace would probably work nicely on a 4x4 off road to stop frame flex, and you could easily make it a bit heavier too. Just buy 2, M12x1.5x40 bolts and use the original factory frame mounts to make your life easy.
