I took my 2012 Dbl Cab in today for a vibration from the front end that transmitted right through the steering wheel on bumps and rough roads. The bumpier the road the worse the reaction. The truck just didn't ride as smooth as I though it should. I though it seemed like the steering TSB (which they told me didn't apply to Canadian trucks! WTF is that?) but was shocked when they told me the front shocks needed to be replaced (at 35000km??) They ordered them and are installing tomorrow.
Has anyone ever had this happen at such low mileage?? Will they swap out the shocks then realize that it wasn't the cause? I can feel every crack, bump, snake etc and when I hit a series of bumps the wheel feels like it's going to jump out of my hands?
    Thoughts?

Hopefully the shocks will fix this.. Usually, for me, they start leaking first, but I've had shocks last 20K to 150K miles.

I assume that the tire pressure was not off the scale, also you could try a tire rotation if the shocks not fix this. (and a real off the wall thought - did one of your buddies fill your tires with water ??? :)

I ran my original rear shocks for 125K, the front struts were still original at 175K. The rear shocks were still OK but almost rested through.

I personally don't know what worn out shock feel like, I've never replaced them before on any vehicle.

That sounds exactly like the steering wheel vibration TSB.

Although I still feel the slight "bump" in the wheel while hitting bumps (TSB)? It was the shocks....WOW what a difference. 99% better. I still can't believe shocks were done at less than 38K km.

Do the bounce test. Push down on a corner of the truck. It should spring right up and not go back. If it springs back up them down again, it needs new ones.

    OME and worth every penny.
Bounce test doesn't work on a truck very well.
They're spring rates are too high.
