I went to the dealership this morning to talk numbers. They were willing to discount the truck by $1000 which was fine with me.

However, maybe this wasn't meant to be. My wife bought her Rav4 in February and all was well. However, between then and now, there appears to be a major negative error on my credit score that just appear in April! An old debt from 2003 that should have come off my record in April reappeared as a new BAD debt for April 2009. Now it will take 25 business days for the credit bureau to "investigate" and HOPEFULLY correct the problem.

Oh well .... Looks like I might be getting a 2010 Tacoma instead LMAO :D

I got a price of $31000 OTD on a 09 SR5 access 4x4 4cyl 5spd magnetic Grey.I wonder if there's room to to better.I might wait for the 2010 because they say no availability on the silver streak that I want.

    That's about a $2000 discount.

Can't they bring in a silver Tacoma from another dealership?

They could probably bring one in from Quebec or Ontario but they say there's no 4cyl 5spd sr5 4x4's in eastern Canada. They have a couple Grey Metallic.I have my heart set on the silver so I'm just gonna wait it out . my 1993 toyota extra cab with the 4ycl is still running strong.

I keep getting the run around. I can't get in touch with anyone from the freekin' bank. Every time I call I get voice mail, I leave my name and number and nobody gets back to me!!! When I call the credit bureau, they tell me that I need to call the bank and have them correct the problem. SHEESH!!

I had to go see a freekin' credit counselor today to see if they can help. He is going to write a letter explaining the error and send it to the bank and the credit bureau. Hopefully he will be able to help. What a nightmare!!! Guess it could be worse though ... I can't even imagine how tough it must be for someone who has their identity stolen :eek:

    Cheers.

the wifes right. And you should get the 4.0. Once you get it, you'll find that you actually want to do more stuff in it.

So .... it's been just over 2 months and still no resolution! Since I can't get in touch with anyone via the phone, I have to mail in my request. Then it takes a few weeks for the bank to get back to me and then I send other info by mail and then it goes on and on. What a freekin' pain!!

I had to extend the lease on my Honda Civic. Good thing I had that option or I'd be without a vehicle now.

Well on the bright side, I'm looking forward to the new cup holder upgrade on the 2010 Tacoma! LMAO. :)

OK .. The pieces are finally starting to fall together.

    1) I got the error removed from my credit report. That was a nightmare!!

    2) I just sold my Honda Civic to a nice young woman who's dad lives just down the street from me. We are going to Honda tomorrow to do the paper work.

    3) I found an '09 Tacoma 4x4 Access Cab 4.0 Automatic last week. I finally decided on Black Sand Pearl. I also decided to go for the V6. Since I won't be towing anything I decided against the TRD.

    4) My credit application was approved today.

So, it looks like I should be picking up the truck on Saturday or the beginning of next week!!

I still won't believe it until the truck is sitting in the driveway!

    Cheers

I will be sure to post some pictures. I have been developing a wish list of mods from this site but, given the hefty down payment I will be making, I probably won't be able to afford to begin the mods until next summer.

    Cheers.

Just got home with my new truck. I had a great 1.5 hour drive home on the highway. It's awesome!! :D

The woman picked up my Honda this morning, then I went to Saint John this afternoon to get my truck. Talk about timing!! :)

    Cheers.

    Did some MPG calculations today.

First was city driving and a little highway and I got 16mpg
Second was mostly highway with a few city trips afterwards and I got 18.5mpg

    Not too bad!!!

Oh ... and I LOVE the sound the engine makes when you TROMP on it!!!
    :burnrubber:
    The acceleration is soooo smooth.
I might getter better MPG once I calm down.

    Cheers.
