    First post.

So I've been waiting for my bfg stock tires to wear out before I upgrade and lift. My ideal lift would be around 4" suspension with Uca's and NO adjustable coilovers ( I had a terrible experience with Megan adjustable coilovers for an 07 eclipse gt) I swore I would never have coilovers again. I'm looking to use my factory rims and get a set of 285/75/r16 mud terrians.

I've looked everywhere and the most inclusive lift kit I've seen is the rancho 2.5" lift here http://www.4wheelparts.com/Lift-Kits-Suspensions-Shocks/2-5-Inch-Primary-Lift-Kit-with-RS9000XL-Shocks.aspx?t_c=1&t_s=38&t_pt=3533&t_pn=RANRS66901R9
It keeps the factory ride specs...

However as you can see its a coilovers lift, plus it looks like it can only max out at about 2.5"-3". I think the 285's will fit but I like the extra room that a 4" would give me.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions for me? I'd much rather buy a complete and inclusive kit then to piece together shocks and add a leafs. ( like 881 shocks or whatever it is you see everywhere on here)

I've looked at fabtech, skyjacker, bilistein, rancho, tough country, ome, icon, pro comp, bds susp, and so on. But nothing has jumped out. Thanks

just get the size coils you want for the lift, the matching structs/shocks, use stock assemblies with the lift kit.
i use iron man coils and iron man struts in front and billstein 5100 shocks in back and dakar AAL and love them, ride is better than stock! but only 3" so above that you need uca'sand kit of course

4" lift isn't really an option for 4x4. You either need to keep it at the 3" kits or step up to the 6" drop bracket lifts. Old Man Emu kits are pretty popular on here as well as Bilstein 5100s.

I would do some searching around on this site, there's TONS of info and come back with some more specific questions.

First what kind of wheeling do you do or plan on doing while owning your truck?
Do you plan on keeping this truck or trading in a few years down the road?
    What is your budget?
Theres a lot of info here and more opinions than your going to know what to do with.
You can level it keeping stock suspension or raise with coils anything over that your looking at DB kits 4 to 6 inches but the price keeps going up the more you hang out here with more and more mods it never ends.

Well I plan on keeping this truck for a very long time , this is partly the reason behind my dislike towards the coilovers systems. I had coilovers on a car for about 1 year and then they started losing the ride height settings and would imbalance my car, I had to re-adjust them about every three weeks (Pain in the ass). About 1 1/2 years later my cars front axles went out and the dealer never could get it fixed right. The car was only about 3 years old and had under 50k miles. The car never was right after the coilovers and eventually had to trade it in for the taco.

So I want to spend somewhere under $1,000 but get a kit that will hold up as long as the factory suspension would.

I don't do aggressive wheeling at all. So I don't need to break the bank on a long travel system or something fancy.

Thanks again for the help, I'll check on the ome again

The stock setup in your truck is a coil over. The setup you had in your car is nothing like what the Tacoma uses except they both have a coil over a shock. You will find that a good coil over setup will have minimal droop over its lifespan and as there is much more room to work with you don't need to adjust it as you would a car.

My advice is read all current TSB's.Go to dealer and bitch about how your truck needs all of them. Then lift it.Once you modify your suspension your dealer will deny anything directly related to suspension.

I'm sorry, but I meant adjustable coilovers. I didn't specify. But it's the adjustable coilovers that I don't want. Mine just would not hold a setting for more then a month. After that the right and left front coilovers wouldn't be on the same setting. No problem with non adjustable coilovers like found on the stock setup. Sorry for the confusion

I have the Rancho "Quick Lift" setup on my 2014 TRD OFF-road and I love it I'm still running my stock 265/70 R16 but I'm looking at upgrading to 285/75 R16 = 32.9in tires, they should fit however I've not scene any pics confirming this
