Hi all. I recently picked up a lightly used 2013 TRD DCLB. It came with side steps that were a pain in the ass b/c they stuck out so far and i'd always hit my shins on them. I've since sold them and now wondering if the holes where they mounted should be filled to prevent crap from getting in there.

For those of you that have never had side steps mounted, are there plastic fillers or even bolts in the holes under your truck? There are 3 sets of 2 holes on each side of the truck btw.

There are plastic push pins that are in those holes from the factory. I removed them to install my side steps. Just so you know though, they don't do a good job keeping crud out of the holes. You're better off putting bolts in the holes with never seize.

How about larger plastic nuts, bolts and washers. You can get them at the local hardware store and of course they won't rust or cause galvanic corrosion ....

k thanks guys. Called the dealer and he said they don't normally have them but I was suspicious. Went to home depot but couldn't find them in stainless (mucho pricey too), and hadn't thought of plastic. I'll have to look around for those. Thanks.
