I'm considering a bestop to help transport stuff in my reg cab on trips. Mainly, I want something that will cover the bed so I can take my dog with me in his crate. How hot does it get inside of the bestop while the truck is moving? Would this be a bad idea? Obviously it is black, but I would think it would be comparable to riding in a jeep with the A/C off, but I dont know. I don't want to suffocate or have my dog get heat stroke. Obviously I'm only concerned primarily with the summer.

    Any help is appreciated.

Buy an extra rear window, cut out the plastic and have some mesh stitched in its place.

Yes, its a closed in space with no airflow. Mine wasn't to bad, but I live in San Diego coastal where it only gets up to a max of 85. Doesn't it get pretty hot an humid in Alabama? Just take the windows out, they slide in an out in a matter of a few minutes.

Thanks. And yes, I live in mobile which USAs south as it gets, and it's humid. Oct-April isn't bad but it gets hot in the summer.
