I've looked around and done reading but I haven't heard exactly what I need. I've heard a lot about the bilstein/ toy tech shock/spring combo, but how are they bang for the buck. $900 seems a bit steep, I want a lift spring that will give me a better then stock ride.

I've heard of people running fox shocks and have said it rides like a caddy, but I can not find anywhere that has them. Where and what shock will give me the best ride and a little lift.

Also it has to be compatible with a 6" lift down the road.

You need to do a lot more research. and 6" DB lifts are generally looked down on around here, lol.

If you want a descent suspension lift your going to have to spend some money no way around that. Check out toyteclifts.com cause they have lots of choices on there with different price ranges. I'd say go with a 3" lift cause even with a 6" you wont gain more ground clearance.

3" lift Freedom Off-road adjustable coilovers 5100’s out back with AAL TRD Pro wheels w/ 285.75.16 KO2’s Freedom Off-road UCA’s 4xInnovations front bumper (on order!)
Coilovers will cost $900 or more but you can get a good lift spring and shock for under $500. An OME coil paired with OME shocks are popular here on TW and most people love the ride quality and stance they provide. But if your looking at a fox Coilover then you could easily pay in the $1200 range for that setup.

Also, "better than stock ride" is subjective. I like the way my OME rides, but its not anything like a "caddy".

I just find the TRD shocks are to rough, makes me feel like I'm in a 99 f350 not a 14 mid size. I don't know if its because the truck only has 7000km and the shocks need some time to break in.

As far as DB being looked down its fine, the truck is a mall crawler and I love the looks of these trucks on 6". For off road I've got this toyota, which is more suited for off roading.

Just get some sr5 springs and shocks with a 6" DB. should be a softer ride. Hell, you can probably find it all for next to nothing if you start a WTB thread. XD
