Howdy all-
Old guy, but new to this forum. Been searching & reading, but still not finding the exact info I'm looking for.
My Nephew is bringing his 2009 4wd TRD Tacoma 4dr Double Cab shortbed up to me to install a front 2.5" Leveling kit. (logistical issue is 6hrs away from me)
There are no plans to go aftemarket rims...but,maybe someday, a plus size tire.
Questions & Concerns:
1st- Is a TRD any different in terms of stock lift vs a non-trd truck?

2nd-Is there a lift block from the factory, or will a 2.5 spacer net 2.5" lift?

3rd- This is a biggie- Pictures? I'm concerned about being nose-high. I've read many posts, and understandably-there seems to be different opinons. I cannot find a sideview of this configuration...stock other than a 2.5 front LK.

4th- As I suggested, I did search, (Google & here...always end up here lol)but many of the threads sorta detour with bigger tires, wider rims, different height lifts or types of lifts. A 2.5" spacer kit was already purchased, so its the path chosen. It is not a off-road racer, so we are good with not going the full blown kit route. If the consensus indicates a high rake w/ a 2.5" lift, then any direction toward a rear AAL will be truly appreciated.

5th-If its a AAL to bring the rear up, are the stock u-bolts long enough? Does anyone offer one that wont effect the ride quality too much? Any links to a vendor for a 1" AAL is appreciated.

Thanks all for your knowledge, input, and experience. I would like his truck to be perfect for him when it comes out of the barn next week. When its done, I will post Before & After pics so it may help others.

Get a aal from toytec. You should use new ubolts as the threads stretch during proper torque. I did however use my stock ubolts when the truck was still new.
