rough country any good

my brother n law has an 04 double cab 4wd. truck is mint with no miles and doesnt offroad it ever. he wants to lift it to fit 33s. he stopped by a local place. http://kryptonitecustomworks.com/index.html (kinda new dont know much about these guys).they quoted him at $1800 for a 2.5 susp lift with 3" body lift. i looked up the lift at http://www.roughcountry.com/toyota_95-04_tacoma_2.html for $239
and the body lift at http://www.roughcountry.com/body_lift_kits-toyota.html for $313. total is $552. that means they want $1248 for labor. ARE THEY FUCKING CRAZY????? they are also saying that the factory wheels will not rub on the upper control arm.is that true? dont they rub on the 05-09 tacos.. we are just going to do it ourselves. im really busy and dont have time to help him but im not letting him pay someone $1300 for labor for that little bit of work.

i know everybody hates body lifts so spare me that stupidity please. this is what he wants incase he wants to go back to stock.
will the stock wheels rub the control arms with kit?
i know most guys love the toytec spacer kit. any reason that is better than the rough country? thanks guys

 

Don't go with a spacer lift imho.

 

i have the same rough country link that is posted in the link and i love it, even though its a spacer lift i don't notice and ride differnce.

 

OME with billys or nitros!!!
ride quality improves instead of with rough country, where it becomes shittier.
I bought my taco with rough country in it and now OME is a much better ride.

 

spend the extra $50 and get an ome coil lift from toyteclifts.com for $299. i gurantee you will like it better.

 

he has the same wheels as you too.do you have any rubbing with the upper control arm?

 

i bought a little 1/4" spacer of Wheelers.com so no they don't rub on the UCA, and i only get a little rub at full lock on the frame
