I have the mbrp turndown and don't think it's overly loud, don't really even notice it on the highway. My only complaint is that the muffler hangs pretty low on it. There is no upwards bend like there is with the stock exhaust or the magnaflow.

Thanks Wildcats. Just to be clear, the MBRP turn-down has all 2.5" pipes, correct?

I believe so, I measure it right before the muffler and it was 2.5 and after the muffler looked to be the same size. I am a fan of the sound and was worried about drone because of it ending before the axle, but it really hasn't been an issue. Just wish the muffler didn't hang so low. It's also a pretty good deal at only $280 shipped, and appears to be very good quality.

My thoughts exactly, good deal for stainless steel 2.5" catback. Assuming you also have the Double Cab Short bed?

Since the MBRP talk kinda jacked this thread, getting back to the dumped MagnaFlow: Chris4x4 mentioned that anything over 2.5" on our rig will cause power loss. Is that loss on the turned-down MagnaFlow from the 3" post-muffler pipe diameter?

The magnaflow basically only has a 3" tip. There is basically nothing past the muffler so I think you will be fine. You might still lose a little torque just because of the straight through design of the muffler but I doubt you will notice much.

And yes I have a double cab short bed.

So there's some sort of benefit to my stock exhaust's bend shown in the attached picture, vs the straight design of the MBRP (also shown)?

It seems the MBRP's smaller muffler size and location of the 2.5" pipe coming into the center of the muffler (vs at the top on the stock muffler) would mean it would hang almost exactly like the stock exhaust, right? Maybe since it's smaller than stock it APPEARS to hang lower?

The bottom of the stock muffler sits about level with the bottom of the pipe. The MBRP mufflers is probably 3-4 inches lower and sticks out some. Probably only a concern if you do a lot of off roading and are worried about catching it on things.

Sorry about crappy pic. Completely dark out and used my phone.

Every time I'm about to pull the trigger on buying this MBRP, I find something to cause me to hold off! :) I'm finding some suppliers of the MBRP saying it's 3", others say 2.5":

    http://wcaperformance.com/i-1330623...ust-05-12-toyota-tacoma-4-0l-v6-s5322409.html (2.5")

Any reason to think the Magnaflow turn-down would perform any better than the MBRP turn-down, being that the MagnaFlow maintains the same initial bend pattern that the stock exhaust has?

Woah that's a big turn off for me, the lack of torque. Would the MBRP do that too?
