    Hi,

So on the instruction sheet that came with the AFE CAI, it says to "place 3/4" trim seal onto side vent of housing."

I can't quite figure out how to get the trim seal to sit on the side vent. It seems to have lips that are supposed to hug it, but I can't get it to stay on there.

Can someone who has this CAI shed some light on this? Thanks.

Mine sits snugly on the lip. Haven't heard from many people having a issue with it, other then the side vent of the housing doesn't seal against the hole of the sheetmetal on the truck. Mine is 1"-2" gap. You would think AFE would fix this issue  My only pet peeve with the AFE.

mine fits tightly on top. the top does rub a little on the hood when it's closed, but not enough to hurt anything. I guess I should still cut the housing down about an inch for clearance....

Idk why.mine won't sit on the lip of the side vent. What if I install it without the trim seal?

It won't hurt if you install it without that piece. It's not like it will press against the sheet metal any time soon thanks to AFE awesome engineering and craftsmanship

That seal doesn't like to bend, and will then pop off the box by the ends, I had the same problem. Initially, I just left if off, then went back in later and put it on. Takes either some heavy effort to hold it in place, or some heat (sun. blow drier, heat gun) to the seal to get it to bend enough and hold onto the box.

Good idea, Lurkin. I will try the blow dryer later. I am having the same problem as you. It is popping off on the ends.

Need to push down on seal till it goes all the way down. Its tight but as you work it down it spreads .Slowly push down and wiggle a little and as it seats keep moving on. The opening where you push on to box is small but it spreads open.
