I definitely recommend Hog Heaven Hunts. Had a great time and got to shoot a hog the size of a damn horse. Jason is very knowledgeable and will show you a great time!

Any bow hunts?

 

I just set up a bow only stand yesterday and put a camera on it so I will get back to you! Its pretty hard to bow hunt a non designated bow stand down here since it is so thick.

 

This is...... Freaking awesome. I've really been wanting to try hog hunting. Coming from someone inexperienced and living in the relatively cool pacific NW, is there at time of year you would recommend most? It's a long ways away from me but this looks like a fantastic experience.

 

It certainly is a fun experience! Well with deer season coming up I would recommend waiting till mid February. Still have cool temperatures but a lot less hunting pressure on the animals from deer season! Check out the links for pictures!

Do you ever do just night hunts?

Like staying up all night and hunting? With the 24 hour special you get to hunt the afternoon, as long as you can stay up at night, and the next morning.

 

I gotcha. I can go pretty much any day in the evening or night with a spotlight and kill hogs. I'm just interested in killing some with thermal or NV.

 

I hear ya! Night vision is awesome and thermal is amazing! I have the Pulsar N750 on my AR with suppressor which is my night rig but, unfortunately, no thermal. I want one so bad, just had a client bring out his FLIR unit and man are they sweet looking.

 

They're pretty awesome. A couple months back I was watching an episode of the Pigman. They were hunting with NV & thermal. I can't for the life of me remember what unit the thermal was, but they said it just attached to the front of your scope. It didn't have to be zeroed everytime you put it on a different gun.
