Front end lubrication in dusty driving

I use my '06 Taco off road as part of my work. In summer, Nevada roads are often very dusty (we call it "bug dust"). While I have the Taco steering linkage clunk, I was wondering if I needed to lub the front end anywhere as part of regular maintainence. I have searched the forum and have not found anything revelant. The front suspention is not making squeaks or odd noise, I just want to know if there are any weak points in the front end the dusty environments might bring out. I would like to be aware of what to look for and or prepare for. Thanks mucho for any comment.

Also, check your air filter regularly. It'll get dirty that much faster in dusty conditions.

Lubrication can be a double-edged sword sometimes. Spraying and/or lubricating certain areas can 'attract' dust/dirt to stick to things. Although the lubrication part is good, attracting dust/dirt into areas that weren't originally there, not good.

Keep up with your maintenance..... check fluids & things regularly and take note when things don't look right.

Keep the truck cleaned and don't hesitate to spray/clean underneath the truck paying special attention to suspension,brakes,steering areas. You don't want too much build up under there. Don't hesitate to spray off the engine compartment either - being careful not to blast electrical areas/wiring.

 

Once again, thanks a lot!! Hell, I tap out the air cleaner at least once a week. I have driven in these conditions for about 20 years now, so it is good to know about the Taco. Thanks again.

In Northern Nevada, we have dust season, mud season, and frozen snow season. Gotta love it!!
