I have a 2010 Tacoma, 4 cyl, 4wd, and when I run the AC and the compressor kicks on you can really feel a difference in the truck, seems to lose some power, does anyone else notice this also?

Yes my truck is very noticable too. I read once that I ac compressor takes about 11- 15 horsepower to run (May be different now with better technology this was about 7 years ago). Either way on a truck with 159 hp that's already working hard 10 hp loss with make a difference.

The ac compressors draws a bunch of power. Leave the truck running put it in gear and lightly hold the brake. Just enough so the truck doesn't move forward. Turn the ac on, as soon as the compressor turns on. The truck will want to jump forward
