My thinking: all heatshields > one heatshield > cheapo

Close enough. Lol. I do this far too often, but I compare it to the graph of x^2 (X squared)

The cheapo is at the start of the graph around x=0 or 1. Barely any utility.
The HeatShield Front is in the middle around x=2. More utility than cheapo, but by a small bit.
The Heatshield front and sides are further down the graph, where x=4 or 5 and the value has increased exponentially! Here, there is a lot of utility. I wouldn't bother with only a front heatshield. Okay, that's all I will say about it!

I love it. Like I said in my ULTIMATE SUGGESTION POST, I wish the front had suction cups as well to prevent sagging. They roll up perfectly fine! You can't get it as tight as a newspaper, but I have found that your really want to roll it as largely as possible, that way the sides don't curve away from the windshield/windows. On my front, one edge (The inner of the rolled up form) curves away from the windshield because it is used to being rolled up tightly. So when you roll them up, try and have it where the Velcro barely reaches.

CA sun probably isn't as bad compared to that Texas heat, but still get's pretty hot this time around.

Definitely will try doing that. Keep it loose like a goose!

Read it a bit earlier. Very detailed Devin! So which way did you find best to hold up the windshield? cardboard, towels, or added suction cups?

Also I am planning to order through heatshield, and found a coupon code on their Facebook page. VEHJUL for 10% off. "Vehicles of the Month (July): Car: Chevy Camaro SUV: Chevrolet Equinox Truck: Dodge Ram used for 10% off subtotal." But still worked on my order. Wonder if I should place the order for tacoma and still using coupon code.

Same exact thing happened to me. VEHMAY was for Silverados but I think there is no filter so use it while you can before they figure it out.

I haven't done the things I mentioned yet. Like I said, the towels create another way for it to fold and crease. The easiest idea will be 4-5 vertical strips of something hard. The harder idea would be suction cups and even that could create more crease lines. I think strips is best.

And I found out that you can bend your mirror ALL the way to either side and it will help getting heatshield in with minimal bending.

Still deciding on mirror relocating mount...

Definitely the 3 or 4 vertical strips idea. Trying to figure out what will do best though. Maybe a trimmed yard stick perhaps? What are you using?

:notsure: No idea yet. I am leaning towards cardboard as a cheap option.

Yard sticks would work well. I have more room for trial and error since mine is already sagged and bent. I bet straightening/cutting some wire hangers would work nicely. But could get hot and hurt the heatshield?

Plastic would be ideal but I don't know how to get strips of that.

Update to my suggestions! There is a quite simply fix to the mirror issue. Simply turn your mirror all the way up and pull it forward for each side you tuck the heat shield under. Requires no manipulation of the heatshield. You'll know what I mean when you go put your hands on your mirror.

For those of you that read the 1-3 posts I made about my suggestions, I am thinking about making a thread for it in the product reviews. Maybe after I have done my own trial and error I can post pictures too. Yes, I think I will do it then.

    Thoughts? Feeler
