Paint "Cure" time???

    So I've got this brand new Shinny Black Tacoma. Built May 2014. Is the old adage still true that you have to allow the paint to cure for 3 months before polishing? I'm dying to put some Meguiar's Gold Class Polish on it to make it even shinier. Should I wait or can I have at 'er? Thanks in advance.

    Well it's not bad now and I certainly don't want to make it a mess. Ya I kinda consider wax a polish.

    I've seen the god awful swirl marks on black vehicles. Perhaps I should put a sealant on it first. Meguiars at one time made a Silicone Sealant. In fact I liked it so much I bought it in the 64 oz. bottle and used every bit of it up. #20 I think it was in their numbering scheme. Then I heard that you shouldn't use anything with Silicone on automotive paint. I guess I don't know that much about all the ins and outs of paint care. I do pride myself on having a nice looking vehicle and usually give 'em two coats a year. My go to product has always been Meguiars. I have two partial bottles on hand. One is the Gold Class Carnauba Plus and the other is the NXT Tech Wax 2.0. Any opinions on those two products? How about a good sealant?

    I'm certainly open to just how I should proceed.

    My dad uses Lucas Speed Wax and really likes it. You don't need to swirl it, just wipe it off so it won't swirl your paint. He does a few coats first, then a coat each time he washes. It's so quick and easy that you can't go wrong with it. And it smells like bubble gum or something.

    The NXT is good stuff. I prefer chemical guys myself but megs professional line is good. I would go clay bar and a sealant of your choice. I like Jetseal 109. EDIT: if black, go with a black finish glaze before the sealant. It really really helps it stay looking like a "wet shine" for longer.
