I bought my '05 doublecab taco a few months ago. I wasn't satisfied with the audio aspect of it (loved almost everything else about it) so I decided to start from scratch. I built a sealed sub box out of MDF that houses 2 type-r alpine 10" subs (2,000w RMS 3,000w peak each), a 2 farad capacitor, and a monoblock class-D sundown audio amp all powered by a 2 gauge wire kit. For the door speakers I went with alpine again. 6.5 type-Rs for the rear doors and 6x9 type-R component systems for the front doors. I ran new 14 gauge speaker wire for all of these speakers to my class-A 4 channel infinity amp and then 4 gauge wire from the amp to my battery. Not sure I needed the 14 gauge wire upgrade since all of the speakers are 110w RMS AND 330w peak but it's nice to have installed already in case I ever decide to upgrade to a heftier set of door speakers. For the head unit I went with a pioneer touch screen because the eq had two custom settings so that's really all I was looking for there. It was a really fun project and I'm pleased with how it sounds. Let me know what you guys think.

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Impressive. Looks like a real pro install. Wish I could hear it, bet the sound is incredible.

    No Dynamat in the doors???

Thank you. Not yet on the dynamat. I went a little overboard and bought everything at once so I'm waiting for the wallet to fatten up a little bit before that. Also on the wishlist is an optima yellowtop and a high output alternator. It'll do for now though.
