Ok, so I have replaced the bushing with the Marlin Crawler piece. At first it's great, tight and positive. But this is while the temps (outside, not truck) are mild. When it gets cold again, it's back to very hard to get into 1st. Sometimes after fishing thru 3rd and 4th it helps, other times not. I'm afraid something going to break and I'll be at a light sol. What else is in there causing this problem, especially when it's cold out?

    Thanks!

Might be clutch issue. Not trans issue.

Bringing this up again, it's getting pretty bad. Sometimes it will not go into any gear without a whole bunch of pushing and pulling. Sometimes it goes no problem, but mostly not. I did find today, that when stopping, if I go to 2nd, and then just as I come to a complete stop go to 1st, it's ok. Then I can let the clutch out and it will usually go back into 1st. Once moving it shifts mostly pretty good, a little hangup on 5th. Hot or cold makes no difference. I'm pretty sure it's the shifting mechanism. Throwout bearing? If I drop the trans to fix this, should I also do the clutch "while I'm in there"? I want to plan ahead to fix this.

Complete OME kit w/ 881's and dakars. All-Pro Sliders, CB, HAM Radio and various other minor stuff.
Mine was doing the same thing until I replaced the fluid with Amsoil Severe Gear. Alot of members here like Redline but with the cold temps, Severe Gear performs better.

Yeah, I changed the fluid earlier this year. I could do it again before tearing things apart. It sure feels like something is catching on the shifter.
