So I've been looking at this truck on Craigslist and the owner doesn't seem to know much about it. It is lifted but I'm not sure how high. The owner said 8-10" maybe. I don't see it being that high. He also said it has 33" tires but he doesn't know the brand. The truck looks great and has low miles for a '97 tacoma. What do you guys think? I think it is lifted maybe 6" with 33" tires maybe. I'm new to tacomas so let me know what you guys think.

    Craigslist page not found.

However, unless its a 6" Fabtech lift, you cannot lift a Tacoma more than 3" due to the IFS.

Looks to be a drop bracket lift. The whole front axle is lowered. See the original control arm mounts with the bump stop plates welded on. I'm guessing the spacer is the same drop as the drop bracket for the pumpkin so he can use stock springs and shocks.

Drop bracket lifts are pretty good from what I've been told.

Looks to be a 6" lift. You would probably want to upgrade the springs and shocks to be the correct length to get rid of the spacer. That just does not look very sturdy! I don't have a drop bracket lift, but I assume you could just get longer shocks and springs???

That spacer looks dangerous as fuck lol.
I'd buy it, but if you do I'd for sure change out that spacer!!!

There are few people on here that approve of drop bracket lifts. IMO don't get it unless thats exactly what you were planning on doing in the first place.

A drop bracket lift is fine if you know and can deal with the drawbacks. That drop bracket lift does not look safe for anything besides a pavement pounder.

Thanks for the help guys. It is a nice looking truck but I think I'm going to steer clear of it for the simple fact that the seller doesn't know much abou it and really I don't want to fix an issue that was caused by a shitty lift. I'll stick with something stock and lift it myself
