ok so I know this is probably an easy fix but I'm not as knowledgeable as some of you others out there in regards to electrical. I have wired up some led lights into my cup holders and ran a couple above my power outlets. the issue I'm having is that i tapped into my shifter light so that they are able to dim, however when i dim my interior the leds i installed get brighter and when I increase my interior the leds dim. I know its something thats probably very simple so I put up a post here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    reverse your wires

when you dim the lites,, for reasons unknown too me the neg will bleed power,, which is why the leds get brighter

switch the wires and you should be good

yep. you switched the + and - wires on your connection. Our dash lights are regulated through the ground and not power so this would be the exact result by installing them backwards

luckily it was an LED you connected. Something else may have blown out your dash light circuit. Would not be good. That dimmer switch isnt cheap lol
