    Hi All.
I am a new owner and new to the forum. Anything I need to be on the look out for? I intend to change my oil at 500 miles to clear out any break in debris. The sound system seems pretty slim on functionality. I have Traffic, Weather, Blue Tooth and a USB input, but there has got to be a way to hack this thing. Has anybody had any luck? How does the messages thing work? I have it Bt'ed to my iPhone, went through the set up, but haven't received message one. Does the Tacoma Double Cab have any difficulty with fitting two dirt bikes in the bed? I do not have the long bed and I am expecting my bed extender next week.
Any must have mods? Basically, I bought to to commute to work and haul around my dirt bikes. I do not intend to do any serious off roading with it. That's what I have dirt bikes for.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing your thoughts

Use a sheet of plywood in the bed to protect the tailgate.

    Welcome!
If it's like the Tundras, go into your Bluetooth settings on the iPhone and turn the motivations on so you can have text messages read to you.
I turned it off as it became rather annoying.

I've heard bad things about the tailgate. Last week though, I was standing on my tailgate with my XR400 on the ramps, which were leaning on the tailgate. It seemed to handle it well. Two bikes might be a different story, depending on weight of bikes.
I've seen people fit two dirtbikes in the bed with ease though. I'd recommend the bar sold by a memeber here with multiple hook points.

Great Information guys. Thank you. Do I still need to put Plywood on the tailgate even with the protective bedliner which covers the tailgate? I just sold my 2000 Mazda B4000 Pickup with 213,000.0+ miles. That tailgate didn't get damaged with the dirtbikes in the back. Is it possible that the Tacoma Tailgate is thinner sheet metal than the Mazda B4000/Ford Ranger?
