I need to get a picture of a local (Canadian) Tacoma where it states the L/100km, and the MPG.

But they use the UK MPG which is typically 5 or so mpg higher than the American version.

So a buyer off the street would see 27mpg and think the truck is great on gas, meanwhile Toyota completely twisted the numbers around to show a boldface lie about their product.

    Not true.

They are based on an EPA test routine. The entire vehicle is run on a programmed dyno that simulates real-world driving conditions (including compensating for wind loading based on the drag coe of the vehicle.)

Modern results are FAR more accurate than 30 years ago when they were based on runs on a test track, but the thing to remember is that the results are still based on conservative driving, not exceeding 65mph.

The old test track runs were done at 55 because that was the national limit.

Just because YOU can't get better MPG than the EPA sticker doesn't mean the number is bullshit.

Hey guys. I finally had time to change my air filters and just fueled up the first full tank since. 21.7 MPG! That's about 75% hwy and 25% city. Thank y'all for your help and I look forward to continuing learning here on TW!

Wow, I honestly get over 100 mpg+ per quarter. 1st quarter tank runs about 118, and so on for the rest. I have made almost 420 (no weed joke) before the low fuel light comes on. Since owning the truck that is how I have come to check my rolling mileage. If I dont get over 110 per quarter, I know its drinking it so I watch what I am doing a little closer. I don't baby the truck and I don't go out of my way to conserve fuel. If I did, I would think it would hit mid 20's+ on a tank.
