so, does each connector control one relay? do i could hook a switch with the female connector to those leads and they would operate the relay?

I could make it the way you describe.

So in this configuration, each of those Weather Pack connectors is on the OUT-to-Accessories. The long harness is for the switches. When the switch is in the ON position, it would charge the relay and it would switch ON the Connectors there. i.e., a set of HID headlights, light bar, compressor, etc.

For anyone getting Weatherpack connectors. Unless you specify for me to make a wire run off the Female connectors, they will be shipped UNASSEMBLED so you can add them yourself to the system. You can use a basic crimper to get these terminated. No need for the special tool.

This video is a great reference.

If anyone needs additional Braided Loom, I can either include a length to your specifications for a price, or buy a roll off Amazon or wherever else you prefer.

I'm using flame retardant black right now.

Was asked about Deutsch Connectors. Really didn't want to start stocking a bunch of connectors, but if there is enough interest, I'll get some stocked to resell. Damn though, that tool is $500+ to terminate them. :jawdrop:

Looks nicer than the weather pack connections though. I will give them that. Hell, RIGID is using them, so it must be good.

Finally finished reading the entire thread this morning. Brought up 2 questions:

    1. What is the amount of AMP draw that constitutes the need for a relay? I know you stated lights and compressors earlier but LED light now a day draw much less. So I was wondering if there is a "suggested" amount that should be relayed?

    2. Where is local for you? Just wondering if I could take advantage of free install? :D

I am trying to determine if I need a 5 relay or a 10. Certain accessories that I have installed came with their own relay already and are fused through a Blue Sea now. I just don't know if I want to go through and rewire all of the accessories into a 10 relay box or leave them alone and buy a 5 relay box for some new additions. :goingcrazy:

    I'm in Virginia.

Relays, well, that's a rough one. If it shipped with one, keep a relay on it. Basically, anything you want switched and want to take the stress of of an actual switch. Some switches ate reassured at 20-30amps each, meaning they could be used in a circuit that goes up to that rating. They might get to hot and melt, or the contract points might wear out faster.

Install is easy. Cut the relay, fuse, and switch wires off. Now you just connect the accessory to the lead on the out side of the box.

The new wiring harness will contain all the switch runs including a power and neg source depending on the options you choose.

My rigid leds came with relays. 60 amp relays! The draw on my 40 is 17.2 I think. 20's were like 7.6 amps. So that was 3 relays. Then my dual 6". Weren't on relays, but rigid said if I combine them, use a relay.

I'll look for the link explaining the use of relays better. Mobile right now.

The blue sea boxed are great. Once you install this though, 10 or 5, it just looks like it belongs under the hood. Unlike the blue sea, which sticks out like a sore thumb.

For your install, just eliminate the extra fuse block and wire everything through the new one. Just a bunch of crimps and a heat gun later, you have a future proof solution, that's waterproof and elegant.

You going to the overland east? I could install there or if you end up within a couple hours to me. I would drive a distance to meet up.
