outlet in bed not working

    Has anyone had any problems with their in bed outlet not working? Mine doesn't seem to be working properly

    It doesn't work "properly"? That suggests it does work, but something is wrong.

    What is it not doing for you?

    did you turn on the switch on the dash? are you trying to run something that draws too much for the plug to handle? We need more info to help you troubleshoot it.

    Tools...shop vac, saws all, circular saw....all turn the switch off. Have used an orbital sander with no problems....new alternator & batt. 3 summers ago & now nothing works. It was the the high output alternator

    The outlet is only good for 400 watts max if the truck is not in gear. 100 watts while driving. The largest tool I can run is a jig saw.

    circular saw definitely won't work, it will keep popping off. vacuum draws too much power. The only thing electric tool I've had success with was a grinder when I added D-rings to my bed. I was able to get mine to work intermittently using a circular last year after the tornadoes came through (had to get the fence propped back up and had no power for 3 days) but it was a lot of resetting (I don't recommend this).
