I'm pretty certain my windshield is leaking on the driver side. On a few occasions when there has been heavy consistent rain the carpet has ended up soaking wet. There's no scent, so I'm confident it's not the heater core, and it's consistent with rainy weather.

Is this a common problem that anybody knows of ? Just wondering. I'm going to have a glass shop put a new seal in and have them check it out.

If the widshield has been replaced, it has been known to happen.

Ok, thanks... I'm the 3rd owner, so there is a good chance it may have been replaced before

my old taco was a 96 single cab, and i go snowboarding about 40-50 times during the winter and on days where the line of cars coming out of the canyon were endless and it was snowing my windsheild would leak also. either dripping down or beads of water running down the windshield

i wound up just buying a clear all temp silicone and placing a small bead across the top of the windsheild and it fixed the problem

Searched for this topic to see how common the issue was as well.

I noticed my 2000 would smell damp after rainy weather. I could also see rust and a little bit of rot behind the trim. Then one day I actually saw rain dripping of the oh shit handle...time to fix this problem.
Brought the truck to a trusted local glass shop and they performed some rust repair, sealed the repaired sections as well as replacing the windshield (pitted and chipped) and trim.

Looks great and one step closer to the cleaning this truck up to like new.

Interesting... Mine has a few beads on the inside of the windshield on occasion :rain: Mine had been replaced with an aftermarket unit a little before I bought it. Looks like I'm going after some silicone after work

It was the cause for water leaking in my '96. By the time I replaced it, the guy pulled the windshield the channel was rusted. Bad prep job from the previous windshield installer was what the new installer said. A lot of installers rush through the windshield replacement and don't seal it properly. The rust causes space where the windshield is no longer sealed to the metal channel and water would get it.
