There is a good argument that this may be the case and that the 2015 Tacoma TRD Pro Series may be the best off-road truck value in America.

    Critics argue too

Buy a SR5 and build it up like you want for less money than the Pro will cost. That would be the better Off Road vehicle.

Can someone explain to me why the 4runner would out perform the taco? Same drive train, similar wheel base, and its heavier, and tuned more for hp than low end tq? Also that 5.3 v8 isnt the reason the tahoe can haul more, its the brakes and over all "full sized" upgrades in general. I would say the taco could pull as much as the tahoe, but the government sets ratings based on safty and ass covering. I would say that the weight to power ratio is actually pretty close between the two.

all i can say about this is i LOVE 4runners looks and ride, but it took me 6 days to roll mine! i rolled it on the street when it was raining and i started to go sideways, so i i turned into the skid like you would on any other vehicle and it started to straiten out, but because its so damn top heavy, with the body roll, it over corrected and before i could adjust .... next thing i remember i was all the sudden laying on the roof! (also good testimony as to why you should wear seatbelt lol) but i can state that the motor was still running, so 2 thumbs up for durability, lol!

so out perform, never! if they are that top heavy on the road, just think about when you are on trails.

btw i was going about 35mph!

Sounds like you hit a curb or something. The traction and stability control kept my 2010 4Runner in line even when I was trying to drift around in a parking lot. Once I turned off the traction and stability control, I was able to have a little fun. I hustled that truck through WV's most twisty roads and never had an issue.

TRD BAJA Suspension...Rims and tires, blackout badging, TRD oil filler cap, front skid plate, N-Fab step bars, GrillCraft custom upper and lower grills. K&N air filter, TRD Supercharger.
What RVM said: Here are the differences that can be attained through aftermarket sources...well, everything except that new truck smell!

    1) Softer springs for the front of the truck that add a 2” lift. These springs have a lower rate and are paired with TRD Bilstein shocks with remote dampers.

    2) The truck will have 1.75 inches of added travel and in the rear 1.5.” The dampers are one of the truck’s most important features. The idea being that yes, the truck will be able to handle more off-road abuse, but the dampers allow that to go on for a while.

    3) Tires for the Tacoma will be tough 16” BF Goodrich all-terrain KOs.

    4) The exhaust is a cat-back TRD system of stainless steel with dual polished tips.

    5) The skid plate up front is standard of course and is made of 1/8” powder coated steel.

    6) Rounding out the package is a TRD shift knob, TRD floor mats, and a unique throwback “Toyota” badge on the front and TRD badging.

I agree with you DoorDin regarding the The Kinetic Dynamic Suspension Syste. It is a really good advantage which was first introduced in select Lexus models.
