My truck had power door locks but does not have keyless entry. In lite of my wife car being stolen recently I would like to put keyless entry w/ an alarm if possible. Can I buy one of these after market products? or will I need to go to a dealer since my truck was never equipped?

If I understand you correctly yes you can use an aftermarket alarm. And still have your power doorlocks.

Thats what I did. Aftermarket works just fine. I used the Viper brand alarm with keyless entry. You will have to use the alarm brand key fob though

Ditto what others say - yes, it will work.

I also used a Viper brand alarm system. The alarm system enables me to use the alarm fob as a lock/unlock remote. Worth the cost just for the remote lock/unlock feature IMHO. I also alarmed the windows and door of my canopy so some nice options are available with a decent alarm system.

i had keyless entry and got a remote starter added aftermarket, works just fine

edit: I think the 01-04 (maybe 03 and later) had the keyless module but was not programmed or active, just needed a fob to get it working

Yea, you can go the cheap way and order a kit online, from ebay or Amazon, and install it yourself. It doesn't look too terribly difficult, though I have never done it. Or take the kit to a nearby shop and pay them the labor to install it.

Or you can go to a shop and buy the kit with install from them. Look around at prices, some places will be more expensive. Car Toys wanted almost 300 dollars to install it, but an independent car electronics shop near my house did it for like 50 bucks. They're a bit shady though >_>

300 to have an alarm installed?? Thats robbery! Most reputable shops around here install the alarm, which also includes the unit for about $200 out the door.
