Hey all!! New member here looking for ideas for my replacement Taco. I fell into the "goldmine" of having Toyota buy my '99 back which had 230k miles on it for $13,000. So, I searched all over the Mid Atlantic and found one 6 hrs from my house at a dealer on the WV/KY border and pick it up tomorrow!! I can't believe I bought a new truck over the phone/internet without even looking at it or test driving it first!! Craziest thing ever!!! It's a 2009 4 Door Long Bed V6 TRD Sport Red that's fully loaded. I got it for a really good deal according to 4 other dealers in my area here in VA. What should be my first accessory I buy?? Steps? Cold air intake? I'm undecided. This truck has so much from the factory. Bluetooth, XM, backup camera, you name it, it's got it! Any help would be appreciated! Thanx in advance!!

$29,500 was the final settling price. Very satisfied. Ran that price by other local dealers and they all scoffed at it saying there was no way they would sell me that truck for that price...and that was BEFORE I even bought it!! You'd think the locals would've tried harder to sell me a truck or tried to call my bluff in letting my drive 6 hrs one way to pick it up, but oh well. I did it on Saturday!! And I love it!! Now I just need to decide on what the first accessory is. I'm glad I don't have to buy a Line-X bedliner and that my nice toolbox from my '99 Taco fits so well on this new truck!!!

I tried copying the link to another thread I have titled "Only one East of Mississippi River?!?!", but the link wouldn't work when I clicked on it. I don't know if you can search it or not. I have the pictures saved on Photobucket, but my work won't let me on that site. When I get a chance later, I'll post those pictures to this thread as well for ya'll to see!! Check back this evening!!

I may go the route you did when purchasing your taco. Seems like online you can find way better deals than nearby. As long as it is Speedway blue & 4x4 i'll be happy :D One of my relatives works at a dealership nearby that deals with toyotas and she said I can use her discount, so my best deal will prob. be there....but I will call around....you never know ! :D

Anyways, I'd get an exhaust first...atleast cat back =) Thats the first thing I'm doing when I get my taco....need to do some research though and see whats better....I have a flowmaster on my ranger and I liked it, but I heard some talk of magnaflows being better. Then i'm focusing on 3inch sus. lift & new tires

In my area they seem to force you to test drive it, I think it’s because if you test drive with a particular salesmen your hands off to the other sales guy.

Toyota has a "Buyback" program for year 1999-2000 Tacoma's that have frames that have rusted "through completely" which mine did (just a little hole). They will give you 150% of the Kelley Blue Book HIGH RETAIL value!! I had a 1999 Tacoma Access Cab 5 speed with 230,000 miles on it, 3.4L V6 TRD package and got $12,795 for it!! Definately worth checking in to!! Worked for me!! All you have to do is call your local dealership and simply schedule a FREE appointment to get it checked out and they'll let you know if you qualify.

LOL, I did the same thing except I'm stationed in Lakenheath, UK and the truck that I bought is in Atlanta. My Dad is going to pick it up this weekend! I will not even see it until Oct 5. I bought an Off-road DC 4x4 SB, BSP, toyota protection, and led lighted running boards for $28k after my $1500 rebate. The good thing is that I am getting stationed in Alaska, so I didn't have to pay any taxes and AK is going to let me reg the vehicle before I get there since my 30day tag will exp. AK has no sales tax! But, this was a pain dealing with the dealership and fed-xing paperwork. It took them 2 months to get my truck and after they did, they told me that hundreds of people were intrrested in my truck cause of the cash for clunkers. They told me that I had to have the paperwork signed and returned in 3 days after I just got it. The manager was wanting to sell my truck to get more money because they didn't want to chance getting stuck with an 09 without a rebate. I sent the notarized paperwork via fed-x from the UK and it got to Atlanta in 22hrs! Whew, I haven't written anything this long in a while, forgive the mispellings or run-ons.

Sorry for the delay in posting these pics. The fire department I work at doesn't allow access to photobucket which is where I had uploaded my pics at of my truck. But anyway, here they are. I'll have more this coming weekend. I think I'm going with ventvisors, a bugshield, and a cold air intake first. Any ideas on which intake would be appreciative!!
