    Hey guys,
I'm going to be installing a cb real soon and need some opinions. I need to find a geographical location with minimal interference to perform my antenna tuning. Where do you cb guys go to perform this function? I'm in Long Beach so looking for some place relatively close to me. Thanks.

Sell the CB and buy a HAM radio. Unless you're boosting the outgoing frequency signal you'll only be talking to people within a 1/2 mile of each other if you're lucky. As long as you're respectful on HAM radio's you will be fine, otherwise you should hold a license to speak on them.

You shouldn't have to go to a RF quiet area to tune your antenna. Adjust your antenna so your SWR is <2:1 (closer to 1:1 of course is better) and you should be good to go. You are transmitting when you tune your antenna so it won't matter if you are hanging out at home in a "noisy" area.

Get a swr meter and google how to tune. Very easy to do.

Find an open area like a parking lot or open field with no buildings or power lines near by,
make sure to use an external meter, do not try to use the meter in the cb.

Remember it's all about the antenna,,
A cheap antenna will make the best cb sound and work like shit,
A good antenna will make even a cheap cb sound and work good.

If the set up works good you should have no problem with multiple miles for range depending on terrain
