My mother-in-law is not very tall and is quite comfortable in the short bed as well. :D

"nothing fits back here bed"? I've hauled a 7 foot sleeper sofa, a California king size bed matress, and full sheets of plywood in the bed of my DCSB all without any problems. Not sure I would ever need to haul something that doesn't fit in the short bed with the tailgate down.

However, if I did need to haul something huge; Then I would just get a small trailer to tow that I could also easily drive my lawn mower or a 4 wheeler up onto.

    Not enough...
Sweet! Thanks. I think I'm going to make 2 different ones. 1 for full length and for the 60% seat, because I do have someone use the 40% seat once in a while.

As far as DCSB vs DCLB goes, DC was a requirement. I go on snowboarding trips quiet often and usually have 3 other people with me. Plus gear, bags, snowboards. Plus my dog. AC was out of the question, because 6-8 hours in the back seat of one of those sucks balls. I know, I've been there. With a shell and BedRug my dog would be comfortable in the bed (going to make a raised dog bed to put in there) when the cab is full.

I kinda wanted a long bed, but it would barely fit into my garage and I would have to forget about ever having a work bench in there, plus i rarely haul anything bigger than whatever short bed would accommodate. After 10 days in DCSB, DCLB's are starting to look way too looooooong

    This.

I was in the same boat as the OP, and I'm glad I went with the full-size back seat. I have yet to come across a scenario where I needed a longer bed, and I've carried a good amount of lumber (not long pieces), moved some couches, bikes, and other stuff and it was all fine with the normal tie-down straps. On the flip side, I've used the full back seat about 20 times or more to take a few people with me to job sites, vacations, etc...all in about a year's time.

Plus, I play guitar, so having the additional interior space made the full rear seat appealing. And it'll have the necessary room when we have kids. I'm glad I went with the DC.

    Win win win.
