I recently purchased a 2004 extended 4WD 2.7 with 265/70x16 and planning to install 225/75x15, which was used on some, because we have a lot of wet, slush, etc I have located 2 sets of rims, winter and summer needed, any opinions?

I was considering 15" rims for my 2003 4X4 and I was told they would not fit due to interference with the brake calipers. You mentioned 15"s were used on some, so you may know something I don't though... As far as the new tire diameter, you are going to be revving high at highway speed! 225/75 is significantly smaller in diameter. You may consider a 235/85-16 to maintain your existing diameter, these will be significantly more narrow than your 265/70x16, so you may be getting the best of both worlds without having to swap your rims. Unfortunately, they only make 235/85's in a load range E... so they will be a little heavier, but on the positive, they will last longer. As far as the 225/75x15's... that would be a no go for me. Hope this helps
