General grabbers or Fierce Attitude MT's

Who has either of these tires? Im looking for tread life and snow capability. I have mickey thompson baja claw TTC's right now and the tread life has disapointed me somewhat. I know mickey T makes a softer lug so i would like to stay clear from them for my next set.

 

The grabbers are good in sand...but horrible in snow. I have the Attitudes, theyre mean with triangles and barb wire on them, really good on every surface so far. tread life seems to be doing excellent compared to my buddy with Nitto Mud Crapplers.

 

I'm right next door in Maine and I'm currently running the General Grabber AT2 in 265/70/16 (SL). They have nearly 50K on them with 6/32 of tread remaining. They are awesome in the snow!

That's saying a lot considering this past winter we just had.

However, I did just buy some Toyo Open Country AT2 in 265/75/16 load range C as I don't need a load range E (that's what the General are in that size). Those will be installed in Sept just prior to hunting season. I expect these to perform similar to the Generals.

 

Does it even snow in Texas?

I had the grabber AT2's for a while and i loved them. But i upgraded to the mickey t's cuz i wanted a mud terrain and thats where i intend to stay.

It did this last Janurary! Well it was mostly ice and less snow, still sucked because no one has tires for ice.


I should have clarified, I was talking about the regular General Grabbers, I have heard good things about the AT2, but have not ran them personally.

 

I have about 55K on my grabbers and still have good tread left for maybe 15-30K more miles. Seemed to do well in the snow, I run 200lbs of wood pellets in the bed and dont push it when the roads are bad. They are a bit noisy though. I get about 18mpg in the winter and 20.5 mpg in the summer with them which is slightly down from stock.

Edit: I think I made the same mistake as Sig45. My old Xterra used to have Grabbers but I think they killed the name and must have brought it back, they hydroplaned very easily.
