Tow Package - ( stupid question )

You don't have to have the factory towing package to tow. These trucks are fine without it.

I have the SR5 without the tow package & have been towing my Ranger bass boat for 4 years without any issues. I added an after market hitch & installed the wiring harness I bought from Toyota.

 

Would there be anything on the sticker or plate in the door area indicating the TP?

 

Not sure on that one. But, take a peek under the hood, if you've got the oil cooler under the oil filter and (on the auto) a transmission cooler in front of the radiator, it's got the tow package.

 

On the sticker..YES. Listed under Optional Equipment.

 

My 2006 Sr5 came off the lot with it too.

 

It can either be a PPO option DH (just the hitch) or a factory option TO (tow package) You would either need to check the sticker or have the vin run.

The dealer could have also added it there. If thats the case it would not show in any records but that dealers.
