    Hi everyone,

I pulled a noob move and did a drain and fill on my '06 Tacoma Auto 4-speed 4 cylinder with Toyota ATF WS instead of using the correct ATF Type-IV. 3 quarts of the old fluid came out and I added 3 quarts of WS. The truck has about 110k miles on it. I've drove about 20 miles before I realized my mistake.

The dealer is recommending an ATF flush to the tune of about $230. Or I could do another drain and fill with another 3 quarts of Type-IV? I don't really have time for a DIY change (transmission cooler line style) and at the cost of about $9 quart (x10 or 12 quarts to do a DIY flush), I'm leaning towards just doing the flush.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

Sounds like you made up your mind. I'd also recommend the full flush and diy but you said you don't have the time. Definitely do not leave it go for much longer.
