I'm a little confused about what speakers I can fit in my doors. I've read that 6/9's will fit in the fornt doors. When I look it up on crutchfield it says that they don't fit. Do these only fit with a baffle that MR. Marv sells? Does anyone have these in there tacomas.

I'm looking to upgrade my head unit and speakers and maybe put a sub depending how the sound is after the new head unit and speakers.

Not sure why cf says only 6.5s will fit, but 6x9s do. You'll need a baffle for whatever size you're putting in there though. The stock speakers have built in baffles. I made my own with a jig saw out of mdf, it wasn't that difficult. I used 1/2" mdf for rear, 3/4" for fronts. You have to watch the depth of the 6x9s so they don't hit the window. check the write up for upgrading the stock speakers.

I would bet that Crutchfield is supplying a fit kit with those 6" speakers to make them fit. It is possible that most 6x9's are difficult to mount because of the baffle and such. Crutchfield usually has this right.

6x9 does fit. crutchfield only shows 6.5 because they are selling a pre-made baffle. you can fit a 6x9, 6.5, 5.25 or whatever.
