08 Tacoma (Double Cab) Bed Rails

Hey!

I bought a 08 Tacoma (2nd owner). The previous owner had a leer box over the bed of the truck and when he sold the truck he took the box off. Along with the box the idiot took off the bed rails as well (not just the box).

I called Toyota and they tell me i can not buy the rails i need to buy the ENTIRE box cover. My local junker doesn't have it (not too many taco in the junkyard , at least this generation).

Any ideas??

What box on the bed rails? There has never been a box on the bed rails. Are you talking about just the end cap that normally sits there? Do you have a bed cover on your truck?

 

Hey man.....

On the bed of the truck.....on the sides (near the top) are two rails (one on each side) that screw through the plastic bed cover to the actual metal body of the truck. These rails (see photo above) is what i am missing and i can not put a cap on the bed of the truck without this....

So you are missing the bed rails? There are people on here all the time selling them. Sorry, I just wanted to make sure what you were talking about.

I dont think they are called "bed rails" though.....i heard another name for them .....i forgot what it was....i'd love to find a part no. for these f***ers but cant seem to find it....

 

what a shady bastard... I can see those rails being very useful but its not right to take them from your truck. Good luck finding them... i would go to www.car-part.com They have pretty much any part you could want.

 

Unfortunately the bed rails (according to my local Toyota dealership) come ONLY with the entire bed liner. This means i have to replace the entire bed liner if i am to get the rails from Toyota. Can not find them at the local wrecker.....
