I saw this written about before but can't remember where or when. I was driving my truck earlier today and going around a curve, the front end felt like the tires were locking up and I slid into the other lane. I felt a grinding feeling in the steering wheel. It did this about six months ago but today, it happened three times. I have an OME lift on it, I don't know if that has anything to do with this or not. I am running 265/65/16 tires on it. Anyone have a diagnosis?

I did feel a slight pulse but no dashboard lights came on. I didn't have the VSC done, I need to check that out. I did get an alignment. Any idea where I can get VSC reset and how much $$. Does the dealer do that?

How fast were you going? What were the road conditions? How much wear do you have on the tires? Just a few questions.

I wasn't speeding, the roads were dry and my tires are good. I have about 15k on them.

Just wanted to rule out the simple stuff.

Sounds like ABS/TCS activation, so I wanted to be sure we didn't have a rough road condition, or tire variations from wear.

VSC can be disabled but only for the rear tires. So I have the same problem, I've posted it before. It's only off/on ramps to freeways... Street corners I can take pretty quick (safely) but nothing happens. I have OME 3" with 285/70/17's. I was almost coming to the conclusion that there is one spot where my tires may start to rub on a turn and only on on/off ramps bc of the angle the ramps have. For instance, off ramp curving to the left, is angled to the left, and when I initially go into the turn I am fine. I believe it's when I get the shock load (or spring shock, not sure the proper term) causing my left tire to do weid stuff, whether it's ABS kicking in or VSC... OR what I'm starting to beleive, because of rubbing what is causing the VSC to trip. BUT, I have yet to reset the VSC so maybe before I start talking all high and mighty I should get that done. Hope I've made sense here lol But looking at the front, with a 3" lift and 285/70/17, there isn't a whole lot of clearance.

Every time I get my car I press and hold the VSC button until it's off. Otherwise on a U-turn even going to miles an hour it starts beeping and you get the grinding feeling through the front wheels and steering wheel.

I bought my truck brand-new with 28570 R 17 procomp mt2 on it and it was recalibrated. since then I have upgraded to 315's and did a Chevy swap in the rear. It's all good so long as I push the button and hold it down.

I read here once that VSC, when you hit the option to disable it by pushing the button it's only turning it off for the rear wheels.... This one off ramp that I keep talking about is my work rout and I've tried to deactivate VSC. But I still get the same weird activity after I deactivate VSC.

You will then see the auto LSD and off symbols

Hello.I just bought a 2014 Tacoma crew cab w/dealer installed 3" level and LT BFG 285/70R17 AT T/A Ko tires.I live on a twisty-turny lake road.I have had a zero point calibration done and am still having the tcs activate occasionally on some corners. The dealer says that it IS the tires AND that I must udjust my driving style.(slow down and every other B.S. excuse he could dream up)o.k...My question is -what has anyone that has experienced this problem done to remedy it?(w/o lift removal)-If I was to put on the same tire(LT not P rated) but in the stock 265/65R17 size, would that lessen the effects on my tcs system? Thanks.
