help on fan replacement

    Wondering if there is a thread on how to replace the fan blades on a 3.4 cause belt shredded and broke a piece off my fan

    Buy a new fan I think. If you are talking radiator fan, that's like $50 or so, and pretty easy to replace. I'd worry about whatever was done to replace the blades versus a new warranted fan. If you are just itching to fix the fan, do it as a spare and a fun project :)

    The fan has 4 bolts holding it on. The fan shroud has 4 bolts holding it in place. Just unbolt the shroud, unclip the bottom half of the circular part the fan blades fit into, pull the shroud out, unbolt fan and pull it out.

    Reserected from the dead.
    Use a big pair of channel lock players to hold the snout when you go to loosen the nuts free.

    Take the fan shroud and the fan out the top together. Be careful that you don't damage the fins on the radiator.

    That's why I suggested he unclip the bottom part of the shroud them he can take the shroud out then the fan. It really is easier.
