I know that some members have installed LED light bars on their roofs, and I thought that in another thread someone had mentioned installing them on their factory roof rack. My question is how well do they hold up when installed to the factory roof rack (going through car wash, etc.)?
I have a light bar and am still contemplating the method of install so ANY help or advice is GREATLY appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ken

Should be fine as long as you tighten er down good. I was afraid of going through car washes. Did a few times with no problem until last time. The top spinner brush got stuck on my 42". I heard it clunk, stop, then lifted over it. After I got out the bar was flipped backwards, ha. But, mine wasn't super tight so that I could adjust it. And it didn't have the end legs that have notches that lock in place. I realized I don't even need to adjust it so I'm going to put an extra bolt drilled into the bracket and through the side cap of the bar to make it permanent. I will probly NEVER go through another car wash that uses spinning brushes. They seriously suck. The other ones that use strands that rock back and forth would be better.

Thanks Toendanger, much appreciated. That was kind of what I figured. Kind of a bummer because I am limited as to the type of car wash in town and am too physically messed up to wash her the old fashioned way. hmmm...
    Thanks again,
    Ken
