I am looking for a gun rack to mount in my DC that does not require any drilling. Does anyone have a rack like this that can be removed? Post pics of your gun rack setups

No pics right now but I have a rack that attaches to post of the headrest that my shotgun stands up right in. The barrel snaps into it.
It can be attached to rear of driver or passenger headrest.

Here's a link to Amazon for the rack http://www.amazon.com/LUCID-Firearm-Storage-Solution-Vehicles/dp/B00BI6V716

    ^That.

Utilizing a gun rack for.. a gun rack, is "brandishing a firearm."

thanks for the link...I might have to go this route if i can't find a nice overhead one without drilling.

thanks, I really like this setup but I'm hesitant to drill holes in my headliner.

thats exactly where I was thinking for a mounting position, you got any pics of your setup?

If I can ask without getting flamed...

Other than "just 'cause," what is the reason you keep a rifle in the truck? The only real reason I could see is hunting, not to say that is the only real reason. I completely understand keeping a handgun for protection, but I don't see myself using a rifle in my driver seat for protection.

    Please enlighten me?

And x2 to Ostrichsak's mount, that thing is legit.

Same reason I carry a condom.

I'd rather have one and not need it, then need it and not have one.

Valid enough reason-but that is the argument I would make for a handgun or shortarm.

What situations do you see yourself using a rifle in the truck? What would the "need" be in that example? I'm not saying you shouldn't, genuinely curious.

I run a 40,000 acre cattle ranch/hunting outfit. Between dopeheads trying to steal cattle and hunting equipment, feral dog packs and coyotes trying to get to newborn calves, I keep a rifle at arms reach either in the tractor, feed truck or in my own truck. Yeah I could use my handgun for these situations but with a rifle I can reach out and touch something a lot better at 200 yards with a 6.8 than I can with a 10mm.

If I could tell you the exact situation in which I'd need it I would probably just leave it at home until that happened. ;)

Personally my rifle is in my truck from November through April. I predator hunt all fall and winter and my rifle goes everywhere with me. With a mount as described it is both accessible and concealed. There is my personal need. I know several people that are all around more comfortable with a long gun in a self defense scenario. If you are more comfortable with a long gun no reason not to use it in your most desperate of moments. Thats all theory by me at this point as my .45 is my self defense gun but hey if it works for you go with it
