does anyone know if I could go to 285 tires on 16" wheels on stock suspension ?, instead of the stock 265 and not have any issues turning all the way or rubbing... i do light to moderate off roading here and there but mostly road.

Do you want to cut your fenders / plastic / cab mount? Or you might could swing a 285/70/16 without a lift.

I have a three inch lift. I had to cut and reweld the body mount, fold the pinch weld over with a sludge hammer and trim the fenders. With no lift you would have to do much more and it would still rub your ucas so you would need wheel spacers.

I've read that you can do 265/75/16 which is basically a 32 inch tire without issues with no lift. I plan to go this route as I don't want to do cab mount chops or alot of plastic removal. I'd be ok with mudflap removal, but no more than that!

I had 265/70/17s for a little while with no lift. They ripped the mud flaps off but thats about it.

285's here on 3" OME lift.

    Modifications:
    fenders cut a tad
wheel wells cut and melted with a heat gun
    CMC
removed the mud flaps front and rear

    - still have to bash in the pinch weld in the wheel well

This is false. same amount of trimming, cutting, smaching, and general clearancing is required for a 3'' lift and no lift.

correct, pop the mud flaps off and good to go.

    My truck is proof?
315/70/17 on less than 1 inch of lift.

even if i had 3 inches of lift, when my suspoension compressed, the tire's going to pass through the same spot at some point, as if i had no lift at all.
