What are the majority using for spark-plugs?
I have 221,000 miles and I might need to replace original plugs.
Should I also replace the wires?:notsure:

OEM plugs and wires plus having the injectors cleaned but that is just me.

Have you kept up with the recommended service items listed in the manual?

Weathertech floor liners moded to hold OEM floor mats, weathertech vent visors, Toyota bed mat, LEER 100XL cap, hood gasket mod to stop whistling.
I use OEM Densos, there are no wires, you have individual coils.

If it's anything like mine a many others. You're going to have to need 3 NGK and 3 Denso plugs if you go OEM. Why they come that way from the factory? I have no idea.

I choose to go with 6 Denso. I forgot what the number was on the plug.
I got the number from my owners manual. The plugs seem to run fine.

    I added a bolt once...
For the V6 the plugs are like $2-$3 each. Go to a dealer and tell them you want six of them.

Wires - I'd replace if exposed to high/cold temps, humidity, dust, etc much over the 220K miles

Post pics of the original plugs....

I understand that. I quoted the guy before me that said "Go OEM"
What I was trying to state is that Toyota went OEM with 2 DIFFERENT plugs in a lot of the 4.0 engines for no known apparent reason?

Further more, I was also letting the OP know not to be concerned if he finds
2 different plugs in his truck.

Choose an NGK or Denso in a quantity of 6 and all will be fine.

I would like to see some pictures of new vs 30 k plugs or 40-50 k for some of you that go to that.
I can not see why they would use the different plugs per side, if you have the dealer do it they do not, and also other service centers call for a different brand.....

Wonder if a better plug would help power and MPG?
Anyone played with some of the others or plugs that will go 100k

Replacement with Toyota's plugs went well!
All bolts backed off nicely, coils and it's wire harness separated easily!
Plugs I just took my time and they weren't to bad to remove.
    I'm glad I have a long extension!
So @ 221,500 miles this is what the worst looked like, opposite the new ones!
